Service Description
I fell in love with the place the first time I went to Costa Rica. The locals have a saying about life here: ¡Pura Vida! The phrase means "pure life" and perfectly encapsulates the country's culture, beauty, and richness. I am delighted to partner with my longtime friend, photography guide, and Costa Rica resident Ben Blankenship on this excursion. Ben's extensive knowledge of Costa Rica's best spots has enabled us to create an unparalleled week-long photography itinerary in the famed Osa Peninsula. The Osa may be small, but it is home to over 2.5% of all the world’s species. Imagine walking under a rainforest canopy that’s full of exotic wildlife. The jungle teems with birds like toucans, hummingbirds, raptors, and the beautiful scarlet macaw. Expect to see sloths, monkeys, coati, tapir, and other animals. Reptiles and amphibians are abundant as well. We’ll journey by boat or van daily to stunning locations. Each evening, we’ll unwind in one of the peninsula’s most luxurious resorts, where you’ll savor chef-prepared meals that'll rejuvenate you for the next day's adventures. Trip Highlights - Photograph sloths at a private rainforest preserve - Explore the rainforest via hiking and driving tours - Photograph a variety of exotic bird species, including toucans and scarlet macaw - We will visit the Corcovado National Park - one of the most pristine wildernesses in the world. - Visit one of the Osa’s most historic ranches for a cultural and wildlife experience that’s unheralded - Frogs and snakes are on the agenda. We work with a professional snake handler and amphibian expert to expand your Costa Rican portfolio. - Scenery and landscape photography is on tap as we explore mangrove shallows, beautiful Pacific Ocean beaches, rainforests, rivers, and waterfalls. - Four nights at the luxurious Botanika Resort Workshop Dates June 17-24, 2026 Eight (8) days and Seven (7) nights Starts and ends in San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) Group Size Eight (8) guests.
