Service Description

Get ready for an epic roadtrip! The National Parks of the Desert Southwest Photography Workshop is a chance to visit some beautiful, austere landscapes in one of the lower 48 states’s last frontiers. In this workshop, we’ll travel to Big Bend National Park, Guadalupe Mountain National Park, White Sands National Park, and Carlsbad Cavern National Park. These iconic national parks are all in fairly close geographic proximity to one another and we’ll take advantage of their location to get some memorable photographs. Our timing couldn’t be better either. We’ll be traveling during the mildest time of the year so the weather should be fabulous. Imagine the grandeur of Texas’ highest peak or the understated beauty of an area that’s as rugged as you’ll find anywhere in the United States. Then imagine going hundreds of feet underground to the bowls of the desert where water’s carved a magnificent cavern that’s millions of years in the making. Furthermore, we’ll explore the white gypsum sand dunes where the most ancient people in North America once walked. We’re going to cover some ground on this workshop but it will be well worth it. Imagine the photos you’ll come home with after visiting some of the most rugged and remote places in the American Southwest. Photography Workshop Dates  December 7 - 14, 2025 Starts and ends in El Paso, Texas Location Texas and New Mexico Group Size We will limit this adventure to six (6) guests. Arrival City and Departure City and Airport Code El Paso, Texas (ELP) Activity Level and Description This is a moderate trip with some mostly flat hikes that are up to 2 - 3 miles round trip. Accommodations We’ll stay in nice, popular brand hotels during the workshop. This trip is priced for each participant receiving their own room. If you prefer a room share, please inquire. Trip Leader Gratuities On these trips, gratuities are not required or expected, but they are appreciated if our guests feel exceptional service and value is provided to them. Cancellation Policy

To reserve a spot for this workshop, a deposit is required upon registration. If booking within 30 days of the start of the trip, the total cost of the trip is required in order to make a reservation. ​ If final payments are not received within 45 days of the start of the trip, we are allowed to consider your reservation canceled and can offer that spot to someone else. If you do cancel, we require written notice in which cancellation fees in the following amounts will apply: If canceled 45 days or more prior to the start of the trip, the total cost of the deposit plus a $50 per person administrative fee. If canceled within 45 days prior to departure - the total cost of the trip fee is forfeited. No partial refunds will be made for any reason for parts of the workshop that are not used by the client, itinerary changes, or any unforeseen circumstances. Russell Graves reserves the right to cancel a trip for any cause.
