Service Description
Trip Description Upon arrival at Keflavík International Airport (KEF), we'll head to our hotel in Reykjavík. The group gathers for an introductory dinner and orientation for the week. We head south along the coastline, where towering waterfalls like Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss cascade over ancient cliffs. The windswept Dyrhólaey promontory offers sweeping views of the Atlantic and sculpted seascapes below. In the village of Vík, black sand beaches stretch toward the horizon, guarded by the sea stacks of Reynisdrangar. Continuing east, we enter Vatnajökull National Park, home to Europe's largest glacier. Here, the Glacier Lagoon and Fjallsárlón Lagoon shimmer with floating icebergs. We journey on to the beauty of Stokksnes and the jagged peaks of Vestrahorn and Eystrahorn, where mountains meet ocean. In the quiet fishing town of Djúpivogur, life slows. We trace the rugged East Fjords, where narrow roads weave between towering cliffs and still waters. A visit to a working fishing harbor and the mysterious Streytishvarf connects us with the rhythms of coastal life. We rest at a remote farm among traditional turf houses. The north draws us in next. We stand in awe at the mighty Goðafoss—the "Waterfall of the Gods"—and the basalt-framed Aldeyjarfoss, roaring through ancient lava flows. At Lake Mývatn, we explore geothermal landscapes and the Hverfjall Crater. Back at Mývatn, we revisit cratered landscapes before heading west to Akureyri, Iceland's northern capital, where harbors bustle with fishing boats and everyday life. We pass through Skagafjörður, renowned for its Icelandic horses, spending the night in cozy cabins nestled in the countryside. Our final day takes us along the north coast to hidden gems like Kolugljúfur Canyon and the serene Glanni Waterfall.
