Join Alyce Bender and me for an incredible, all-inclusive nature photography workshop into the heart of the South Dakota Badlands. On this adventure, we’ll explore the rugged badlands, visit the famed Black Hills of South Dakota, go to the mysterious Devil’s Tower, and travel to see many of the mysterious gems that this corner of the West has to offer. This trip will feature spectacular landscapes, engaging wildlife, and pieces of American history, making this workshop enjoyable and engaging. After you arrive in Rapid City, we'll have an orientation and begin our next day shooting pictures in the nearby Black Hills. The area is rich with natural, historic, and cultural beauty, and we plan to see the best of it. Imagine being immersed in huge herds of bison, wild burros, pronghorns, burrowing owls, and prairie dogs in some of the most rugged landscapes in the West. We'll travel all around southeastern South Dakota (and even a bit of Wyoming) to explore all of the natural and historic wonders in this rich region of the country. In all, this adventure is seven (7) days and six (6) nights in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. Dates: May 23-29, 2026. The Itinerary* Day 1 - Saturday - May 23rd Meet in Rapid City (RAP), South Dakota Day 2 - Sunday - May 24th Move to Deadwood, SD Custer State Park (AM) Deadwood (PM) Day 3 - Monday - May 25th Custer State Park & Mount Rushmore Day 4 - Tuesday - May 26th Devil’s Tower (AM) Move to Rapid City Day 5 - Wednesday - May 27th Badlands NP (All Day) Day 6 - Thursday - May 28th Badlands NP (All Day) Day 7 - Friday - May 29th Morning Shoot TBD Depart Saturday Afternoon How many people are on this workshop? Six (6) guests plus two instructors. What does a single supplement cost? A single supplement is nothing extra. The workshop is priced so that you get your own room. What's included? Meals, lodging, permits, and transportation are included in the price. All you have to do is get yourself to and from Rapid City. What's NOT included? Personal snacks Alcoholic Beverages Souvenirs *itinerary is subject to slight adjustments

Cancellation Policy
To reserve a spot for this workshop, a deposit is required upon registration. If booking within 30 days of the start of the trip, the total cost of the trip is required in order to make a reservation. If final payments are not received within 60 days of the start of the trip, we are allowed to consider your reservation canceled and can offer that spot to someone else. If you do cancel, we require written notice in which cancellation fees in the following amounts will apply: If canceled 120 days or more prior to the start of the trip, the total cost of the deposit plus a $50 per person administrative fee. If canceled within 90 days prior to departure - the total cost of the trip fee is forfeited. No partial refunds will be made for any reason for parts of the workshop that are not used by the client, itinerary changes, or any unforeseen circumstances. Russell Graves reserves the right to cancel a trip for any cause.
